MEMBERSHIP

Welcome.  So you think you might want to join USPS and VBSPS?  Great idea!  And to help you with that decision, this page will provide you with some additional information you may find helpful.

You will need an application form.  Just in case you do not already have one, find the membership application form here.  Download it or just print it from the site, fill out the information, and contact our Membership Chair, Lt Terri Johnson.  She will be happy to assist you from there.

When you join, you are immediately eligible for some member benefits.  When you access our National member benefits site, you will see that it's not just boating.  Did you notice discounts on Dell Computer purchases?  Yes, and more.  Some information on this page is available to members only, but you can get an idea.  

Members are also eligible for additional educational courses.  Follow our links to Member Courses to find Advanced Grade as well as Elective Courses available to members only. 

What you won't see in the way of benefits may be as valuable as what you do see.  

• What value would you place on having knowledgeable boating resources one email or phone call away? 

• What value would you place on sitting across the table at a dinner meeting with a person who has years of experience on the Chesapeake Bay and is eager to share the knowledge of those years?  Where to go?  What to do when you get there? 

• What value would you place on being able to call a fellow member who may have experienced that same annoying engine hum, or non-functioning ice maker you are experiencing and get almost instant help, assistance, or advice? 

• If you are new to boating, what value would you place on having a mentor who would go on your boat if invited, and help you learn more about operating your boat?

The sooner you join, the sooner you'll be able to benefit from membership, and the sooner you'll get to know us and we'll get to know you.
